I was born in Geneva, Switzerland during my father's Fellowship at CERN. Soon we moved to Stuttgart, Germany (Max Planck Institute). In October 1978 we moved back to Switzerland where we landed in Brugg, a small city not far from Villigen where the Paul Scherrer Institut is situated.

My basic education took place in Brugg and finally in Aarau at the Kantons Schule. Further education took me to ETH in Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) where I studied Mechanical engineering and am now a research assistant in the Institute of Mechanical Systems which is part of the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. My PhD work is on product development at the Centre for Product Development and should be finished by the end of 2004.

I successfully concluded my studies at the ETH in Zurich on 26th April 2005. As of 1st August 2005 I work for Swisscom in Bern.

In 2014 I married and we now have a daughter Jael Zoé and as of July 2016 also Elin Mara.
